Denver and the Red Sox

Before our summer was going to get crazy, Brent and I decided we were going to take a little vacation to Denver. I originally was the one that wanted to go, hoping that there were going to be a couple of stores there that I really wanted to visit. Before checking to see if these stores were there (they weren't) I happened to get on the Red Sox website and found out that they were going to be playing the Rockies in June. I didn't need to say much more to Brent, he was on board with the trip. Plus, it was the same week as our anniversary, so why not go out of town. At first, we weren't going to take Mallory, but after talking we decided it wouldn't be the same. We headed out of town on June 19th and it was Denver or bust. Brent has a good friend, Dave, from high school that lives there and he was gracious enough to let us stay with him. Thank goodness he likes kids! We had a few things planned, but mainly just wanted to get away. I have never been to Denver except in the airport, so it was something new.
We decided to go to the zoo, of course, and we also did some shopping as well as checking out the 16th Street Mall. We also had a baseball game to go to. There is so much to do in Denver, that we really didn't get to see a 1/4 of it. So now we know we have a future vacation spot with much more to do and see. I don't think that the Red Sox will have to be in town again, but you never know. I hope not anyway! :)

Denver Zoo:

This little guy snuck up on us from behind. They are very pretty, but you really have to watch your kids because they will try and come up and steal food from them. They definitely aren't afraid of people.
This is what happens when you spend 3 hours outside in the heat. We had been in the car all of about 3 minutes when she crashed! The Red Sox:
This wild animal is Dave's cat, Arnie. Mallory was pretty much obsessed with him and gets so excited every time she sees his pictures. Too bad he didn't like her and much as she liked him!
