The Lion Sleeps Tonight

I was so excited for Halloween this year! Mallory looked so cute in her lion costume and I couldn't wait to take her to the mall to do a little trick or treating. She didn't have trick or treat down in her ever growing vocabulary, but who needs to say that when you looked as cute as she did, right? Before the mall, we went to visit an old friend of ours in a nursing home. As we walked in the door, there was a sweet old lady sitting here with her little devil horns and a bag full of candy. Mallory wasn't too sure about this woman, but as soon as she saw what the lady wanted to give her, please (peas) was all she could say! After we completed our visit, off to the mall we headed. Mallory fell asleep on the way there. This is her when we first arrived.
This is her half way through the mall. I took her out of her stroller at this point and tried to wake her. I tickled her, blew in her face, anything to get her to wake up. So much for that!
And this is her as we were leaving. Notice a pattern.
Okay, so maybe I got a little too excited about Halloween this year, but next year we are going door to door!! As for the next year's cuteness, you will just have to wait and see!

Mallory's New Favorite Spot

After carving pumpkins, Mallory decided that Fenway's kennel is her new favorite place to hang out. They both fit in there quite nicely, but I don't think that Fenway likes to share. This isn't just a one night deal. If we don't close up the kennel, you can find Mallory in there. She like to close the door and open it. Sometimes if we don't catch her in time, we will find her playing in his water. Crazy little girl she is!

Mallory decided to move in a little bit farther and Fenway decided to get on out. She was crowding his space!

Carving Pumpkins

Last year around Halloween, Brent was sick, so Mallory and I went to a pumpkin carving party at a friend's house. Since we have been married, last year was the first year I have thought about carving a pumpkin. Then this year, we went to the pumpkin patch and decided we would carve our pumpkins together. Mallory got a chance to get a little hands on this year.

Here are our guts:
Mallory playing with them (don't worry, the orange on her face is dinner, not pumpkin):
And our finished product!
Looking forward to what will come next year!

The Adventures of Mal

So these are just a few pictures of Mallory doing what she does best, playing with anything that isn't a toy. Here she is sitting on a pair of my shoes, trying to put on her boots. Oh, how she loves her boots!

Checking out the boots:
Trying to get them on:
And these pictures are from a day when Mallory tried to use our sub as her new chair. Well, she slid back just a little too far and fell. Being the mom, I went to see what was wrong, laughed because it was pretty funny, grabbed the camera because again, that's what a mom does and documented the wedge between the wall and the sub. She doesn't look happy here, but she did giggle when I did then got mad! I still think these are pretty funny!

Pumpkin Picking

Sunday, we took Mallory to the Rocky Creek Farm for a little pumpkin picking. Earlier this summer we had a wedding at this farm and found out that they have all these activities that you can do. They have various items you can go and pick throughout the year. For the kids, at Halloween time, if they show up in their costume, they get a free pumpkin, so we had to dress Mallory up! It was such a fun experience and we will definitely be going back. Hopefully we will have more weddings at this great location. Here are a few shots from our morning.
All the fun gourds!
A pumpkin just her size!
Mallory and her dad on the hay ride up the the pumpkin patch.
They even make apple cider! We picked our tub of apples and now have delicious cider in our refrigerator.
Last year I put her in a pumpkin, this year, she is on a pumpkin!
Deciding what pumpkin she wanted to sit on next.
This is right before we left. Mallory got some whiskers painted on, but I couldn't get her to smile for the life of me.
Hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween!

Furnished

Okay, I have made you all wait long enough to see the furnished house, so here it is finally! Please do keep in mind that this isn't the end result. There are some totes in Mallory's room picture that have been put away and a few little arrangement changes have taken place, but for the most part, this is what it looks like! Hope you all like it and get a chance to come and see it for yourselves.

We Are In!!!

Well, we are finally in the house. As of Saturday we moved our stuff in and have been staying in our brand new house. We still have a few minor details to take care of (mirrors in the bathrooms and such), but we have a home all our own and now my parents can have some space once again. Before we moved the stuff in, I grabbed a few shots so you can see the place and once everything is in its proper place I will take the final pictures. For now, here you go!

We will be having a house warming party at an undecided date, so keep your eyes and ears open for when that will be and come over and help us celebrate our new home! A big thank you to all who helped work on the house and to my parents for putting us up for the last 3 1/2 months. We truly appreciate it!!
